Unfortunately, we do not rent to foreigners but we do offer cross border rentals for South African Citizens only. The rates for cross border are 1.5 times the normal rental rate with a R3000 refundable deposit

TOWING A TRAILER IN SOUTH AFRICA - WHAT THE LAW SAYS

 

 

Damage Or Loss

  • Notify The Trailer Boys ASAP
  • Open a case at the nearest Police Station
  • NB : Get a case number and a copy of the accident report or docket
  • A legible copy of the driver's drivers licence towing the trailer at the time of the accident or loss must be given to The Trailer Boys
  • If an insurance claim is being used, the claim form must be signed and completed by the lessee/lessee's

Please Note

  • The lessee/lessee's is/are responsible to pay for all damage or loss that may have occurred to the trailer for the duration of the contract
  • The lessee/lessee's will have to pay either the excess or damage/loss amount whichever is the lesser of the two (excess or damage/loss). This amount is to be paid before the contract is ended and the the lessee/lessee's leaves The Trailer Boys premises
  • No Insurance Claims will be processed until the insurance excess is paid in full
  • The lessee/lessee's may be charged loss of income until all payments/claims have been paid and the damage/loss has been repaired or replaced
  • In the case of an accident The lessee/lessee's are responsible to get the trailer returned to The Trailer Boys

 

Traffic Violations

An admin fee of R250 will be charge to re-direct any traffic violations received by The Trailer Boys due to the lessee/lessee's violation of traffic regulations (Speeding fines,Overloading,Illegal Parking, etc etc)

  • All outstanding fees, including admin fees have to be paid in full before a new rental may begin
  • Overdue Fees will be handed over for collection
  • Any additional legal fees to collect any outstanding amounts will be added to the account of The lessee/lessee's
